Two ways to see the volcanoes
From Antigua you fly over three volcanoes: Acatenango, Fuego and Agua. From Guatemala City the route adds Pacaya, which is why it is longer, and you can also fly the Cessna 206.
Prices in USD per aircraft, not per person. The Cessna 206 only flies from Guatemala City — there's no airfield in Antigua.
What you'll see
The volcanoes on the route
Acatenango, Fuego and Agua are on both tours. Pacaya is included on the Guatemala City tour only. Your pilot adjusts the route to the weather to give you the best views on the day.

Good to know
Before you fly
Fly in the morning
Skies over the volcanoes are usually clearest early. Helicopters can fly to and from Antigua until 4:00 PM.
Eruptions aren't guaranteed
Fuego is very active and often puts on a show, but nature sets the schedule.
Safety first, views second
If it isn't safe to fly, you can reschedule or get a full refund. Clouds can cover the volcanoes even on days that are perfectly safe to fly, so views can't be guaranteed.
Mind the weight
Robinson 66 up to 650 lbs; Airbus H125 and Cessna 206 up to 900 lbs, passengers and bags combined.
FAQ
Volcano tour questions
How long is the volcano tour?
About 25–30 minutes from Antigua (helicopter), and about 40–45 minutes from Guatemala City (helicopter). The Cessna 206 flight from Guatemala City takes about 40 minutes.
Which volcanoes will I see?
From Antigua: Acatenango, Fuego and Agua. From Guatemala City: those three plus Pacaya, which is why that tour is longer. Your pilot adjusts the route to the weather and the best views on the day.
Will Fuego be erupting?
Fuego is very active and often shows ash or small eruptions, but nature doesn't follow a schedule — we can't guarantee an eruption.
Where does the Antigua tour depart from?
From Casa Santo Domingo in Antigua, and it lands back there at the end. A complimentary shuttle can collect you from your hotel in Antigua.
Can I take the Cessna from Antigua?
No — Antigua has no airfield, so the Cessna 206 volcano flight is only available from Guatemala City. From Antigua, choose a Robinson 66 or Airbus H125.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Pilots check conditions before every flight. If it isn't safe to fly, you can reschedule or get a full refund. Sometimes the volcanoes are covered by clouds even though it is perfectly safe to fly. In that case the flight goes ahead, and the views depend on the day.
What time of day is best?
Mornings usually have the clearest skies over the volcanoes. Helicopters can fly to and from Antigua until 4:00 PM.
How much weight can we bring?
Robinson 66 up to 650 lbs, Airbus H125 and Cessna 206 up to 900 lbs, counting passengers and any bags.
Can I add the volcanoes to a transfer?
Yes. Several one-way routes include the volcano flyover — Guatemala City, Antigua and Lake Atitlán in any direction. See "Add the volcanoes to your transfer" above.
